“Just picking up and going to a school clear across the country seemed to be the right decision to pursue a career in my passion for music at Berklee,” Vazquez-Landeros said. Her professors agree with her decision.

PSN 2019 Festival

 

After a successful audition, Ana became an orchestra member for the 2019 Prague Summer Nights Music Festival in the Czech Republic. 

The festival consisted of a 1-month performance study, in which, she was

coached by principal clarinetist Walter Seyfarth of the Berlin Philharmonic as well as principal oboist Dwight Parry of the Cincinnati Orchestra.

Ana's studies culminated to performances in world class halls such as the Rudolfinum (where she performed Dvorak's New World Symphony alongside Walter Seyfarth) and the Estates Theatre (the last standing opera house where Mozart worked) where she participated in 4 sold-out performances of Mozart's operas: Don Giovanni and Le Nozze di Figaro.   photos

Harry Skoler, a clarinet professor and performing artist, said Vazquez-Landeros works hard, absorbs her music lessons, and has high standards for herself. 

“First of all she is phenomenal. When she enters the studio, she radiates as an artist and as a human being profoundly connected,” Skoler said in a telephone interview. “Her smile is optimistic and she is a real joy to work with and a 100 percent musician who rises to the challenge. 

“Ana is really humble, really kind, (and) we need artists with kindness and wisdom to connect with people,” Skoler said. “Ana will succeed in any aspect of the music industry she chooses as her profession.”

Vazquez-Landeros auditioned before two Berklee judges in December 2015 in San Antonio, and received notification that she had been accepted at the school in May 2016. The first time she enrolled in the school was the first time she had stepped on the campus...read more.
